Founded Impala Partners, LLC in 1997.  Responsibilities include developing and implementing Impala strategy, originating new business opportunities, managing operations of Impala, serving as member of Kilimanjaro Fund Investment Committee, managing relations with investors in Kilimanjaro Fund, and serving as an advisor to India Value Fund.  Held roles of CRO or CEO in several Impala advisory engagements. 

Head of strategy and world wide business development for GE Capital, reporting directly to Gary Wendt, then Chairman and CEO of GE Capital

  • Established the first dedicated Workout Group in GE Capital.  Resolved over $4 billion in problem loans, restructuring over 35 companies

Prior to GE Capital, Partner of McKinsey & Co., Inc where he worked with a variety of manufacturing, financial services and telecommunications clients

  • In 1985, helped establish McKinsey’s first Asian office outside Japan

Subsequent to GE Capital, joined Lazard Frères in 1994 as a General Partner/Managing Director/Senior Advisor

  • Headed the New York firm’s insurance M&A practice and established and ran Mexico Partners Trust, a fund created to invest in distressed debt in Mexico following the 1994/1995 Mexican debt crisis

Founding member of India Value Fund, a series of investment funds in India.
